Voices of the Village: Rediscovering the city through your child's eyes
Parenthood changes how you see everything. The streets you rush through every day becomes places to explore, and the city you’ve always lived in starts to feel brand new.
In the next instalment of our Voices of the Village series, we travel to the world’s most bustling cities to hear from new parents how they’re navigating the reality of raising a child together. With this, we’re celebrating the launch of our compact city stroller, the Bugaboo Dragonfly Plus, designed for city life at full speed.
I think these are moments I will never forget and I will never get tired of living.
Nacho and Laura, from Madrid, reflect on how their differences as parents turn out to be their greatest strengths. “We complement each other, really, like the team we are,” says Nacho.
In the middle of new parenthood, they find joy in rediscovering the city with their baby. They also talk about leaning on their mothers as their best source of wisdom and support. “They're our pillars,” says Laura.
Even though it’s the same place, it feels completely different, like in a movie when the scene changes with a different filter.
Hanbit and Seungmin, who live in Seoul, also begin to see their city in a new light through their baby’s eyes. “This used to just be a road where we had to rush to work. But now, we look at it differently, like, is this a safe path to walk with a stroller?”. says Seungmin.
It also brings newfound appreciation for their parents, who did it all long before them. “How did they manage to raise us without all of this,” reflects Hanbit.
